I really think that my brother and I were twins in a previous life. We have an amazing connection that most siblings do not. He is my best friend and has been for as long as I can remember. Don’t get me wrong, there were a few times while we were growing up that we just about killed each other and we definitely fought EVERY time over who got to sit in the front seat, who got the piece of pizza with the biggest cheese bubbles, and who got the tissue paper with the sample cookie at the grocery store. But that’s all quite laughable now, isn’t it? I also remember building forts together and then watching “Lifestyles of The Rich and Famous” on a mini tv (inside our fort!... yeah, I know!) and thinking that we had the coolest crib of them all!
In the 23 years since we met we’ve been through a lot… working together as lifeguards (while he was my boss – remember he’s 2 years younger than me!) for 3+ years, going away to college, losing grandparents, a favorite uncle and dear friends who were all too young, and spending a YEAR traveling on the road! And we did it all together. So, when Eric and I started planning our wedding, I knew without a doubt that my brother would be in it… And I wasn’t about to have him standing on Eric’s side. He stood right behind me as my Man-of-Honor!
Well, if you will allow, I’m going to gush just a little more… As many of you know, my brother, Zach, created our HA-mazing intro video for our website (and is currently working on another one for us!!). In December he graduated from Chapman University with 2 degrees: Film and Marketing & Public Relations. He has been an incredible asset to Eric and me as we continue to build Eric & Moriah Photography – and has done it all without expecting anything in return… because that is what best friend/brother/man-of-honors are for! It was through Zach that we were also introduced the INCREDIBLE Samantha Roper – our very own PR Superstar who has been helping us with press for the biz.
Zach and Sam are part of the Chapman University NSAC team, which stands for National Student Advertising Competition. They spend the better part of a school year developing an ad campaign for a real company (the company is the same for all schools). Long nights, deadlines, lots of stress… all the stuff that Zach thrives on. Yesterday, the Chapman team went to regionals to present their campaign and compete. I really wish I could have been there because I have been following all of their hard work (and genius) through Zach’s facebook page and twitter. Well, the long nights, deadlines and lots of stress paid off because they WON!! I am so excited and proud!!
Ok, gush session over. So, while Zach was visiting us in Colorado back in February to film Casey & Jeff’s Trash The Dress session, we absolutely had to do a portrait session for him! The day after the TTD, we drove up the Poudre Canyon with an old wingback chair from our dad’s office. And it was snowing. SNOWING! So I didn’t hold it against the hikers who passed by us while we were shooting and started laughing at us – but they had no idea how awesome our photos were gonna be! Well, if you’re still reading this… Good for you! Because I’m being pretty wordy. So without further ado…

WOOOOOOOW!!! The intro was fun to read and so heartfelt. You two do have a very special connection and the photos are simply beautiful. Those hikers passing in the woods will never know what they missed. Sad face....
AWESOME MORIAH!
